About Topiary Consulting

~Leadership is less about what you know and more about what you’re willing to discover!~ Diane Branson

My name is Jennifer Christiaens and I am a leadership consultant and organizational development practitioner. I completed my MA in Leadership at Royal Roads University, as well as the Organizational Development Certificate Program (ODCP) for applied behaviour science at NTL Institute. I have a passion for working with people and organizations to help them diagnose root issues and implement improvement plans to increase performance.

I am dedicated to helping others master emotional intelligence and am known to motivate, mobilize, and coach others to meet high performance standards. I consider myself to be a personable professional whose strengths include cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings. I have over 18 years of experience working in the airline, manufacturing, health care, academic and oil & gas industries.

My personal values are:
  • Accountability – doing what you say you’ll do
  • Integrity - staying true to self and others
  • Inclusion – accepting others and creating community
  • Independence – creating a sustainable future
  • Mastery – the courage to do better
Leadership authors, David Rock, Patrick Lencioni, Brene Brown and Barry Oshry have guided my own journey of personal mastery and have inspired me to create experiential learning opportunities for myself and others. I became a certified trainer for Power + Systems, allowing me to conduct The Organization Workshop utilizing Barry Oshry’s systems framework.

I am a highly-motivated professional with exceptional communication skills, strong team work ethic, and proven ability to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

~Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground - as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree.~ Joyce Meyer
